Sven-Göran Eriksson sense Select Team for the World Cup left England not only light in the striker department, but also seriously our ability to understand the success of the tournament. With only four strikers to choose Eriksson always knew he was a dangerous game. This was compounded by the fact that Rooney and Owen were returning from an injury and Theo Walcott, who never played a better first team for Arsenal. But Owen's injury will hurt Eriksson. He took an unnecessary risk, overloading his team with midfielders, assuming that the objectives are shared between teams. Eighteen-year-old youth, Owen has only scored a sensational goal against Argentina in the second round, only to lose to England, again on penalties. But he returned to Liverpool Football Club, a national hero and in England had found a striker whose presence in camp could cause fear in the hearts of the opposition. The arrival of new coach Rafael Benitez as Liverpool FC, has led a move to Real Madrid and a link with England colleague David Beckham. Despite a relatively successful season was sold to Newcastle United, where his performances have been blighted by injury. England fans worldwide is Owen, who wants a speedy recovery and success. England do not have the luck of the quality of a lot of strikers at the moment and the restoration of Owen is vital for their assault on the European Championship in 2008. Only time will tell if Michael Owen could return to his best form and realize the potential he has shown as a child. England fans around the world will keep our fingers crossed.
