A Community in Crisis
Please forgive me, as I am not a parent. I've never been a parent. However, I'm forty-five years, two children recently adopted. Well, I must say, two children to help with school attendance, donating their time and are usually available. They are, unfortunately, the only male figure in the role of these young lives to offer any kind of love. These children are poor, unwanted and unloved, desperate for attention and love they need. My family is growing every day and work here in East Africa I am writing in Arusha in northern Tanzania. We, in our charity work with street children and orphans or children within our community. Every day someone dies here - last week our office neighbor has died of AIDS contracted from her husband and now that his five-year-old daughter after the mother is the same disease. A group of three adults and Pantaleo Saho, Amani Minja and I founded a community of love, designed to help themselves. We do not accept the aid, funds from outside our community are not encouraged. Donors in the past, they used us for their political interests - we found this to frustrate the work we do here. We found the financing is not much work for us. Now we are independent, we have wings, we are free to contribute to another as a result of our vision to build a stronger community - to be proud to be from Tanzania. We are overwhelmed with children, even though - as more helpful. Nobody wants them and their prospects for change. We hope to link with people who are able to send letters to children to encourage them. These cards have a great effect on children. Gift, who is eleven years old, speaks no English and has received a letter from an eleven years with Liverpool in England. The lyrics speak about life in England and football, loves soccer gift. Treasures of gift letter and sleep with it under my pillow. The night, always opens it and looks, can not read, but reading it to him so many times, knows the words of the heart. We have letters from other children, or letters from parents to children and single parents. Our community needs the stimulus of the letters of the old fashion way - support us by using classification of tourism. Do not look to others for this reason we believe that creating a culture depends on the hand. We as a community if funding is accepted, the prostitute of us to survive. We encourage people to come to work on a voluntary basis, as it is constructive and beneficial to all parties. If you are able to help encourage a child or a single parent long distance, by letter, that would be much appreciated. Money is not the point - the point is to help and encourage our women and children to persevere and fight for a better quality of life in difficult circumstances.
